Tapestry

In Preschool, we use the Tapestry Journal to record your child’s learning and development. Reforms to the Early Years Framework mean that our focus is on our children over paperwork. However, we recognise that the learning journal is an important part of collaborative working between parents/carers and practitioners, which supports the learning and development of our Preschol children. Parents/Carers can expect to receive a ‘focus week’ observation on their child each half term. This observation will include photographs of your child’s learning and will highlight their developmental achievements as well as their next steps, so that you can support their learning at home.

We encourage parents/carers to upload their own entries of their children, to share with their key worker. This can include special events and celebrations, things they have achieved at home and activities they have completed. Doing this will support your child’s key worker to plan effectively for your child’s learning and development, as well as fostering a strong bond between your child and their key worker. We also ask that parents/carers ‘like’ the focus week observations as an acknowledgement that they have received and read the observation.
