School Council

The School Council is a body set up to give the children a voice in the running of the school. Every child is a member of the School Council. Every child has a voice on the School Council and has the opportunity to put their views forward.

Two children from every class are elected by their peers to represent their views at monthly meetings. They take whole school issues and ideas from their own class and share them with the School Council. They also share ideas and decisions from the School Council with their class. Decisions made within the School Council can, and do, have a real impact on the rest of the school.

Our children understand that every child at our school has a voice and is listened to and respected. Our school council demonstrates our core values in action and supports the learning that takes place around community, democracy and governance.

The school council regularly updates Mrs Linford who is the School Council link Governor with their views and decisions. The Governors play an active role in supporting our school council and often seek the opinions of our children when considering how to develop our school.
