At Martinshaw Primary School the Geography curriculum is designed to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for Geography; providing a curriculum that inspires and fascinates the children about the world which they live in and share with others. Our curriculum equips pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
As pupils progress through the school, their knowledge of the world grows and helps them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
The geographical skills that we equip the children with are progressive, as well as transferable, for their time at Martinshaw and also to their further education and beyond.
